Alessandro Gandolfi - Gaza #1

Ibrahim Arafat is riding the waves of the Mediterranean in front of the Annadi Al Bahri Marine Club in Gaza City, in the Gaza Strip. The photo was taken in 2010 during a photo-reportage devoted to the world of Gaza surfers, a small group of young Palestinians who, despite the enormous difficulties of daily life in the Strip, tried to practice sport and have fun.

The image is signed on the back and measures 30x40 cm. It is printed in a limited edition (25 copies) on Hahnemühle Baryta FB 350 g paper and is provided with a certificate of authenticity.

Alessandro Gandolfi is an Italian professional photographer and journalist. Interested in telling the small and large changes of contemporary society, his reportage has appeared in outlets worldwide and has been exhibited in various international photography exhibitions and festivals. He has received international recognitions such as the Sony World Photography Award, the NPPA Best of Photojournalism, the POY - Pictures of the Year, and the PDN. Eight of his reports published in National Geographic Italia have earned the “Best Edit Award” as the best reportage published in the magazine’s various local editions.
