Thomas Rieck (1951 Hamburg – 2022 Hamburg), Untitled, 2008. Two joined photographs, etched and painted. 17 x 12 cm, unique. Analog photograph print from the original negative, RC paper. The photographic source image was etched/scraped on the surface, painted with transparent color washes, and sealed with a glossy varnish/resin coating.

Rieck was a Hamburg-based draftsman, painter and author, co-founder of the first Hamburg artists’ house (1977), most recently at Künstlerhaus Frise. Rome Prize Villa Massimo (1985/86).
