The piece is professionally framed in a thin wooden frame and equipped with UV-protective glass. The whole is in perfect condition. Frame dimensions 42 x 31.5 cm, Photo 34.5 x 24.5 cm.

Popel Coumou is known for her still, almost architectural visual language in which photography and spatial construction merge. In her early work she worked primarily photographically: she built minimalist scenes of paper, light, and shadow, which she then presented as a photograph. These early images are characterized by a strong reduction of form and color, and by a subtle play between reality and fiction — as if the viewer is looking at a silent, constructed world that exists just beyond the tangible.

The artwork was purchased directly from the artist. Popel Coumou is represented in the Netherlands by Torch Gallery in Amsterdam.
