Mara Solène (born 1982) is a painter who works mainly with oil painting. Her research explores the human figure as a space of relationship between identity, presence, and perception. Her works feature figures suspended between reality and imagination, with simplified forms and faces that move away from realistic portraiture to become expressive tools. At the heart of her work is the relationship between the figures: the gaze, the distance, and the silent tension that builds in the painting’s space. Her practice moves between figuration and distortion, in an essential search in which identity remains open and in continual transformation.
NB: The artwork will be shipped inside a sturdy tube suitable for shipments. The colors of the painting may differ slightly from the photos due to screen settings. In person, the artworks are more beautiful than in photography: one can appreciate the hypnotic beauty of the oil colors coming to life on the canvas.
Worldwide shipping via UPS courier.
