Louis Icart (1888-1950) – The Lemons – Original colored gravure – Signed
The Lemons, original colored gravure (etching and aquatint), Schenessel & Karmel catalogue raisonné no. 160.
Edition signed in pencil by the artist, with visible plate wash. A work representative of the French Art Deco aesthetics of the 1920s, illustrating a young woman picking lemons in a Mediterranean setting.
Sheet dimensions: approximately 45 x 60 cm.
On the back there is an old appraisal label mentioning:
« The Lemons (1928) – original colored gravure – signed, justified and listed – Schenessel & Karmel catalogue no. 160 ».
Condition: an old work showing yellowing of the paper and reported old restorations. Some signs of handling and age-related flaws. Sold in its current condition (see photos).
