Up for sale is a beautiful, highly collectible vintage McMurdo petrol pocket lighter, proudly stamped "Made in England" with Patent No. 590958.
This classic mid-century lighter features a distinct hexagonal/diamond-shaped brass body elegantly wrapped in its original textured brown leather (or high-quality faux leather) casing, giving it a fantastic rugged, tactile feel.
Fully Working: Unlike many vintage lighters found today, this piece sparks easily and lights up beautifully with a strong, steady flame (as seen in the photos).
Cosmetics: In lovely vintage condition with a gorgeous natural patina on the brass elements. The leather wrapping shows minor authentic wear consistent with age, adding to its historic charm.
Mechanism: The striking wheel, snuffer cap, and fuel/flint screws on the bottom are all intact, original, and turn smoothly.
