Description from the seller
Author’s Proof, Books with inkwell and ink-pot. Engraving by Lluís Llop, hand-signed. Provenance from the artist himself
I was present, in his studio, when he created the work
Small stains on the periphery
This original intaglio print is the work of the Spanish artist Lluís Llop, belonging to his series devoted to books and writing implements.
The print shows a still life composed of an inkwell in the foreground, a fountain pen, stack of books in the background, and a large mallet or vertical press.
Technically and formally, the work is characterized by the following:
Technique: It is an intaglio print (hollow-ground process), made using combined techniques such as aquatint or drypoint on a metal plate, achieving strong contrast with cross-hatched textures.
Artist’s Proof: The handwritten inscription "P.A." in the lower left margin indicates that this is an Artist’s Proof, i.e., one of the impressions set aside for the author outside the standard numbered edition.
