Original color etching by Rüdiger Frank (1949–2010), who from 1984 worked under the artist name Tilopâ Monk and was a documented student of Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts.
Printed on BFK Rives France, a high-quality French laid paper.
Sheet size approx. 50.0 cm × 50.4 cm, plate size approx. 29.5 cm × 24.8 cm.
Signed in pencil lower right with “R. Frank”, lower left numbered in pencil “7/12”.
The edition comprises only 12 copies.

The front is flat, clean, and free of stains, creases, or other damage. The paper shows a minimal, age-related passepartout light edge outside the depiction (see detail photo).

Special feature: Centrally in the lower white margin area there is a small, printed color speck (atelier spot/offset) in the original color of the motif.

Backside condition:
Minimal, superficial paper thinning at the upper edge from earlier mounting, as well as a small light spot (see photo). The front and the print are not affected.

Shipping will be carried out promptly with DHL, protected between sturdy boards. The sheet will not be rolled.

This untitled etching ("GO / COME") shows Frank’s engagement with Asian philosophy after his monastery stays in Asia in the early 1980s. The work belongs to the transitional phase toward his later creation as Tilopâ Monk. Beuys’ influence is evident in the experimental interplay of meditative symbolic structures and the artist’s red seal integrated into the image. The composition presents the red, Buddha-like figure on the left side, labeled with the inscription ‘GO’, opposite the gesturing human figure on the right, which bears ‘COME’. In this juxtaposition, a visual hint of a transition or progression from one figure to another level emerges."
