Multisurf, a 1/1 art photograph printed in 2025 by giclée, 40 × 50 cm, hand-signed, in superb condition and sold directly from the artist.
Description from the seller
Unique print. 40x50 cm, 1/1
This black-and-white photograph explores the memory of movement through a technique of superimposition that overlays several moments of the same scene. The silhouettes of the surfers blend into the texture of the ocean, creating a composition where time seems to dilate and where each wave tells several stories simultaneously.
At the border between photography and painting, the image abandons documentary representation to become a graphic and poetic work. The subtle contrasts, the depth of grays, and the repetition of forms give rise to an almost abstract composition, where the eye moves freely between the different strata of the image.
This work evokes the power of the sea, the rhythm of the waves, and the intimate relationship between man and ocean. It invites prolonged contemplation, revealing new details with every gaze.
Technique: Art photography print in black and white made from a photographic superimposition.
Passionate about photography from a very young age, Ben DAUCHEZ began in the neighborhood studios of La Rochelle. There he acquired the full set of basics of classic photographic technique, from shooting to retouching and through the laboratory. At 22, freshly graduated, he moved to Paris to perfect his training by becoming a set assistant for the Daguerre studios, Le Petit Oiseau Va Sortir, and Studio Zéro. He had the chance to collaborate and assist the photographers of the most talented: Bettina RHEIMS, Patrick DEMARCHELIER, Terry RICHARDSON, Ellen VON UNWERTH, Marcus MAM... From certain decisive encounters will emerge beautiful projects and long collaborations, notably with André RAU, Bettina RHEIMS (the sulfureous exhibition INRI and its eponymous book at Editions Albin Michel) and Peter BEARD (2009 Pirelli calendar in Botswana).
His photos are published, among others, in Condé Nast Editions (French and international), Première, Wallpaper, ID, Madame Figaro, Lifestyles, Dandy Magazine... His universe also interests brands with very different brand codes for which he has signed the creation of Institutional and/or advertising campaigns such as Dior (beauty), L'Oréal, Peugeot, Philip Morris, and Burger King (Advertising awarded at the Dubai Lynx).
Ben DAUCHEZ has also produced numerous portraits of celebrities (IGGY POP, Woody HALLEN, Grace JONES, Jean DUJARDIN, Gilles LELLOUCHE, Olivier MARCHAL, Carole BOUQUET, Charlotte GAINSBOURG, ...) of beauty, of men of the world (Olivier DASSAULT, Jacques SEGUELA...) and of travelers...
This photographic path has since allowed him to freely immortalize the human beauty, aesthetics, and spiritual essence of each personality.
