Description from the seller

Rare historical photo from the Edward Weston Collection.
Title: Marilyn Monroe in Korea - 1954.
Technique: Silver gelatin with a satin/matte finish on Kodak photographic paper.
On the back, a stamp on the photograph reads “Edward Weston Collection.”
Very good condition.
On February 16, 1954, Marilyn Monroe climbed into the turret of an M46 Patton tank in Korea and waved to over 100,000 American soldiers. It was her unforgettable troop-entertainment tour following the Korean War armistice. The cold was biting, the stage was makeshift, yet Monroe’s radiant energy filled every corner of the military bases she visited. “I wanted to make her smile, even if only for a moment,” she said, expressing the mood that made her performances legendary.
