Description from the seller
The slowness of thought is a contemporary sculpture by Angelo Scardino, made of PLA and resin, finished and manually decorated. The work features a snail with a body characterized by a luminous bronze finish, onto which a large cerebral volume is grafted, symbolically replacing the traditional shell. The surface of the brain is crossed by a dense tapestry of images, characters, graphic fragments, and vivid colors, arranged according to a language close to Pop Art, Street Art, and the contemporary imagination.
The snail, universal symbol of slowness and protection, is transformed into a metaphor of the modern mind: seemingly motionless, yet constantly overloaded with stimuli, images, and information. The contrast between the animal’s slow movement and the visual intensity of the brain narrates the tension between the biological time of the human being and the speed of digital communication.
The monochrome, metallic body dialogues with the lively and chaotic surface of the brain, creating an ironic, immediate work that is at the same time reflective. Observed from different angles, new details continually emerge, making the sculpture dynamic despite the chosen subject.
Work suitable for collections of contemporary art, Pop Art, Neo-Pop, and experimental figurative sculpture.
Unique, original, and unrepeatable work, created by Angelo Scardino in PLA and resin. Each finish, color stratification, and surface intervention was performed manually, rendering the piece non-reproducible in an identical way. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist, attesting to its uniqueness, technique, year of realization, and direct provenance from the author.
Professional, durable, and secure packaging. Trackable and insured shipping.
