AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A rare “Globe” double-sided desk clock from the 1960s, of German manufacture. The eight-day movement comes from the firm Köhler (from Laufamholz), which supplied such clocks to various other companies. The clock is also known under the name Estyma, but Blessing-Werke KG delivered it, at the request of clients, either unbranded or with the name of a client. The present example is most likely intended as a memento of a jubilee, given the engraved text 1923 – 1963, but which company or institution had something to celebrate at the time remains unknown to me. In very small letters on the rim of the dial is GERMANY. The convex clock faces function as globes, with longitude and latitude lines, and are silvered with the various continents in 24‑carat gold leaf. Even Hawaii has a tiny spot of gilding!
