Italy origin; two-piece Aurora Marco Polo Due writing set consisting of a green marbled lacquer fountain pen with a gold-plated nib and a black matte lacquer roller, both new in original packaging, dating to the late 20th century, with lengths about 13.3 cm and a diameter of 1.1 cm.
Description from the seller
Aurora – Marco Polo – 2-piece set: fountain pen in marbled green lacquer and roller pen in matte black lacquer – New, stock from the warehouse, 1980s - NOS
Set of two Aurora writing instruments from the Marco Polo line, the Turin slimline of the 1980s that carried on the legacy of the famous Hastil. Both pieces are NEW and NEVER USED, coming from the warehouse stock of an Italian stationery shop where they have remained preserved in their original packaging.
The fountain pen is in marbled green lacquer, with the deep veining that makes each piece unique; the nib is gold-plated and finely engraved, cartridge filling. The roller pen is in matte black lacquer, a finish that absorbs light and makes the gold of the fittings stand out.
On both we find the elements that identify the line: the slim perfectly cylindrical body, the cap band formed by two rings with a wide central engraved band, and the Aurora brand, the long flat gold clip.
The set is complete and original: Aurora rigid black plastic cases with white inner lid, Aurora tags, the ink cartridge and the original warranty note addressed to "Aurora Due" — a document that precisely situates production in the reference period.
The Marco Polo line has been out of production since 1986. Finding two specimens still new, in two different finishes and with the full sales set, is a rare circumstance: the vast majority of what circulates today is used and lacks packaging.
