Trained in Pesaro, Faenza and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, he developed an artistic research centered on earth and matter, transforming ceramics into a powerful expressive medium. Moving to Milan in 1957, he came into contact with artists such as Lucio Fontana, Arnaldo and Giò Pomodoro, and Ettore Sottsass.
