Description from the seller
Eleonora Stol (1946–2022) was a Dutch artist best known for her expressive, colorful and emotionally charged paintings and graphic works. She was born in Leiden and studied at the Vrije Academie in The Hague, and then worked for a long time from Amsterdam. Her artist name was also sometimes “La Roja,” referring to her preference for strong colors, with red as a recurring theme in her life and work.
Stol’s work is characterized by vibrant color, dynamic forms, and an intuitive painting style in which passion, love, dance, and dream imagery play a major role. She often used mixed media techniques, including acrylic, oil paint and pencil, giving her works a rich, textured appearance that directly engages emotion. Her art is described as lively, energetic and full of movement, almost as if the canvases breathe.
Dimensions of the work: 100 x 100 cm
The work is on display in our gallery. Furthermore, Art Dumay operates a framing shop (this year marking their 85th anniversary) and a restoration atelier. So should you wish to make use of these services, we would be happy to hear from you.
