"The Pop Art Icon's series" is conceived as an homage to the great names of the 1960s–1990s. Famous motifs are interwoven and reinterpreted. No. 1 is a reinterpretation of the famous "Numbers" by Robert Indiana, with Barnes playing with form by applying arbitrary motifs. For the motif in this Number 1, none other than Keith Haring with his famous print "Andy Mouse" served as godfather.

As a graduate of the UdK Berlin, Toni Barnes has devoted her oeuvre to sculpture. The theme of art in space in 2D and 3D is also reflected in her painting, which deals exclusively with the play of light and shadow. Barnes currently lives and works in Berlin.
