Enzo Ferrari, together with his collaborators, watches the new Abarth 2000 8V engine with great attention. Turin, Automobile Museum – First Competition Exhibition, February 1966.
The Abarth 2000 8V engine, presented in 1966, represents one of the most prestigious creations in the sports motor panorama of the era. Designed for competition, it is an inline 8-cylinder 2000 cc power unit, renowned for its high power and reliability. Thanks to Carlo Abarth’s ingenuity and his innovative technical solutions, the engine was capable of delivering between 180 and 190 horsepower, depending on configuration. Used on several racing vehicles – including the famous Fiat-Abarth 1000 SP – the 2000 8V became an icon of performance and engineering, one of the most representative engines in the history of the Scorpion house.
