Description from the seller
Jan Sierhuis (1928-2023). After the war Jan Sierhuis developed into an expressionist painter, influenced among others by Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso. Together with Appel, Corneille and Lucebert he found himself at the heart of the post-war developments in art.
In 1945 Sierhuis was admitted to the evening program of the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten, which he left after a conflict. In 1947 he was involved with the group of the Experimentelen and in 1948 with the CoBrA group, although he was too young to officially become a member. Later, in 1962 he co-founded the Amsterdam artists' group Groep Scorpio. This is a later work, but still just as striking.

Where necessary we use extra protective materials, robust bespoke packaging and professional transport solutions, so that your purchase arrives safely and in optimal condition.
