Description from the seller
Urban Calatrava
Calatrava was born near Valencia, where he attended the School of Arts and Crafts and the School of Architecture. After graduation, in 1975, he enrolled at the Federal Polytechnic of Zurich to obtain a second degree, in civil engineering. In these years Calatrava is influenced by the Swiss Le Corbusier, whose Chapel of Notre Dame du Haut allows him to examine how complex shapes can be generated in architecture.
The style of Calatrava combines the visual conception of architecture with interaction with the principles of engineering: his works are often inspired by the shapes and structures found in nature.
