Parker - 50 Falcon - Fountain pen

The Parker 50 Falcon was introduced in 1978 and its production ended in 1982, after a relatively short period, a good sign for collectors. The matte brown version, like this pen, had an even shorter production run: it was introduced in 1981 and the Falcon did not appear in the 1982 catalog.
The pen is made of brass with a matte brown finish in epoxy resin.
The familiar Parker 'arrow' clip looks different: the feathers are not defined individually.
I find this feature rather unusual for a pen called "Falcon".
With a cartridge/converter filling system, it is a slim and elegant pen that bears a strong resemblance to Parker’s other slim pens until you remove the cap to reveal the revolutionary and unique unibody nib section.
Only one other pen possessed this feature, the unfortunate and now very rare T1.
The T1 was made of titanium, a metal that proved too expensive and difficult to shape efficiently into the complex forms demanded by the design.
The Falcon is essentially a T1 updated, made in a more suitable material.
The pen is in exceptional condition, it could easily be new.
It features a superb finish and is free of dents or scratches.
Even the gilding is impeccable.
With a cartridge/converter filling system, the pen is equipped with the original Parker metal converter.
In addition to the short production run and the related rarity of the Parker 50 Falcon, its future as a collectible item is further strengthened by its unique and striking design.
