Miquel Plana i Corcó (Olot, 1943 – 2012) was a multifaceted Catalan artist who stood out notably as a painter, engraver, draftsman, typographer, and editor. His figure is unanimously recognized as one of the leading references and renovators of contemporary bibliophilia in Catalonia.

Career and Training
Beginnings in the workshop: At only 14 years old he began as an apprentice at Gràfiques Olot, where he discovered his deep devotion to the graphic arts, ink, and movable type.
Artistic education: He studied engraving techniques under the direction of master Bartomeu Mas i Collemir at the prestigious School of Fine Arts of Olot.
Local avant-garde: In 1969 he co-founded the transgressive Grup Ara with other local creators such as Quim Domene, shaking up the cultural scene of his native region, Garrotxa.
The "Architect of the Book" and his Artistic Legacy
From the 1970s onward, Plana channeled his talent toward refined collecting, harmoniously merging literature and visual art.
Editorial production: Throughout his career he edited and illustrated more than 150 bibliophile books with very selective runs, characterized by impeccable artisanal craftsmanship.
Illustrious collaborations: His engravings and typographic compositions accompanied texts and poems by great Catalan literary figures, such as Josep Pla, Miquel Martí i Pol, Joan Perucho, and Narcís Comadira.
