Description from the seller
Refined Sterling Silver Cigarette Case 925 - Birmingham 1918
Enchanting Edwardian/Art Nouveau era pocket cigarette case, crafted in solid sterling silver 925 by the renowned English silversmiths Smith & Bartlam Ltd (SB&SLd).
The item is a small masterpiece of manual engraving: the outer surface is finely pierced with volutes and elegant foliate motifs. On the front stands a refined cartouche with a stylized monogram, while the back preserves a touching personal history imprint with the original dedication:
"Marjorie to David - May 5th 1920".
• Origin: Birmingham, England
• Year of manufacture: 1918 (Clear and legible English hallmarks: Lion passant, Birmingham anchor and the date-letter 't')
• Weight: 64 g
• Internal details: Retains its delicate inner gilt patina (vermeil) and the original elastic band. Snap closure is firm and fully functional.
• Condition: Very good, considering its more than 100 years of history. Shows very slight and natural signs of aging and tiny edge imperfections that attest to its authenticity and era without diminishing its charm.
A unique collectible piece, rich in charm and historical memory, perfect for enthusiasts of British silverware or as a classy vintage gift.
Shipping: Tracked shipping with professional protective packaging.
