Description from the seller
Sales description
Rare original lithograph by Antoni Clavé entitled Trobadors, produced in 1970.
This work belongs to the most sought-after period of the artist, marked by a powerful visual language blending abstraction, matter and graphic signs inherited from his theatrical and Mediterranean universe.
In Trobadors, Clavé develops a dense and poetic composition where fragmented forms, dark textures and graphic rhythms evoke ancient figures, armors or remnants of a buried memory. Here we find all the expressive force of his lithographic work: a subtle balance between plastic construction and gestural spontaneity.
The work testifies to Clavé's exceptional mastery in the field of printmaking, a medium to which he devoted a significant part of his career. His lithographs from the 1970s are today particularly valued for their richness of material and their almost pictorial dimension.
