Description from the seller
Here we present an elegant, refined model from the most contemporary line of the Hamburg maison, namely the Montblanc StarWalker Doué Rollerball Pen, distinguished by its unmistakable guilloché pattern with horizontal lines. This specific variant represents one of the most fascinating and tactile expressions of the StarWalker line, playing on a contrast of materials and textures of the highest level. The robust cap and the smooth front section of the grip are made of metal with a bright platinum finish; the cap, in particular, is entirely traversed by this refined horizontal groove. The barrel, on the other hand, is forged in precious black resin and precisely reproduces the same circular-line motif of the metal. This geometric continuity between resin and platinum creates a visually striking effect of stringent industrial rigor and guarantees a formidable grip during use. To crown the instrument, we find the indispensable iconic transparent cap jewel that houses inside it the famous floating Montblanc white star, the unmistakable signature of this series.
From a technical and functional point of view, we are faced with a highly versatile writing instrument configurable as both Roller and Fineliner, capable of accommodating every need for fluidity and precision of the stroke. Unlike classic ballpoint models governed by a twist mechanism, this prestigious Doué variant provides a solid protective cap to optimally preserve the freshness and perfect glide of the liquid ink. As clearly shown by the photographic gallery illustrating the pen dismantled into every essential component, maintenance and refill replacement are extremely easy and intuitive: simply unscrew the shiny, tapered metal grip section from the grooved resin body to gain immediate access to the reservoir. This solid and precise architectural design not only ensures rapid refilling but also provides formidable stability and perfect balance of the pen during prolonged writing sessions, making it a reliable directional companion.
Regarding the conservation status of this fascinating specimen, it should be considered in excellent overall condition, clear testimony to careful and respectful use over time. The platinum finishes of the cap, the architectural-profile clip, and the front section are bright and beautifully preserved, with only very slight and physiological micro-scratches visible in the backlight due to normal wear. The barrel in precious black resin, with its striped pattern, maintains the geometrical perfection of its workmanship, showing no structural defect, deep scratch, or obvious signs of wear. To further elevate the pen’s value, retail price, and desirability for collectors and connoisseurs of luxury writing instruments, the pen is offered complete with its elegant original Montblanc box.
