The publication focuses on Erwin Olaf's iconic series Rain (2004) and Hope (2005), in which he explores a stylized, stereotypical image of America.
In carefully staged, colorful settings, figures such as scouts, cheerleaders and housewives appear, whose apathetic gazes evoke a sense of estrangement and unease.
