RC Paper:
A RC paper (Resin Coated) consists of a alpha-cellulose base coated on both faces and a polyethylene film (hence its nickname of plastic paper)
The first RC papers appeared in the 1960s. They were designed at the time for silver photography to speed up development, fixing and washing processes, by improving the waterproofing of the support.
The press prints of the 1980s are mainly printed on this type of paper which gives a glossy appearance to the print
