Description from the seller

Cas Oorthuys (1908–1975) was one of the most important Dutch documentary photographers of the twentieth century. His work reflects the social history of the Netherlands: from the workers' struggle and poverty in the thirties, through the resistance and the Hunger Winter during World War II, to the optimistic reconstruction period. After the war, his focus shifted from political engagement to humanitarian photography, in which he, with a keen sense of composition, placed daily life and people at the center. His photographs are now part of the collections of, among others, the Rijksmuseum, Fotomuseum Rotterdam and Kunstmuseum Den Haag.

Dimensions: 58 x 46 cm
Dimensions with frame: 78 x 66 cm

Furthermore, we use restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would love to hear from you.
