Beautiful, museum-quality and exceptionally complete 16-piece Jugendstil / Art Nouveau tobacco set / dining set from the period 1900-1910. The inside of the lids and the coasters is inlaid with gorgeous earthenware from the famous German manufacturer Waechtersbach. The ceramic shows the sought-after 'Decor 1406': a refined, stylized floral motif in soft pink and pastel green tones. The underside features the authentic Waechtersbach blind mark (the recognizable Ysenburg shield/bee-hive) and factory codes (including 108/73/I). Where such antique sets are almost always incomplete, this set is exceptionally complete with as many as twelve matching coasters.
