Description from the seller
FLORES DE CAMPO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The work features a lush bouquet of flowers placed in the foreground, cropped against an open landscape of hills, paths, and scattered small buildings under an intensely blue sky. The composition blends two classic genres —the floral still life and the landscape— in a single bright image, where the nearby and distant nature dialogue in perfect harmony.
The main protagonist is the bouquet, arranged in a greenish jar with soft reflections, gathering white, violet, and pink-tinged flowers treated with an energetic and expressive brushstroke. The flowers seem to move with the same freedom as the background landscape, so the entire painted surface breathes with a single vital impulse. The scene conveys freshness, spontaneity, and a sense of serene contemplation, as if the bouquet had been placed in front of a window or terrace opening to the countryside of the Mediterranean.
The color palette is built from deep blues, vibrant greens, creamy whites, and coral and violet accents that provide rhythm and sophistication. Ernest García handles color with a freedom close to Fauvism and Post-Impressionism, using intense contrasts and formal simplifications that privilege visual emotion over literal description. In this sense, the work evokes affinities with the coloristic tradition of Henri Matisse and certain echoes of modern Mediterranean painting, especially in its way of merging interior, nature, and light into a decorative and poetic atmosphere.
The brushwork is visible, loose, and decisive, imparting dynamism to both the bouquet and the landscape. This material vibrancy reinforces the contemporary character of the work and gives it a very attractive presence on the wall. Flores de campo not only represents a floral motif, but also a celebration of color, of light, and of the relationship between nature and painting.
Flores de campo will be particularly appealing to collectors interested in contemporary floral painting, floral still lifes, Mediterranean landscapes, Fauvist art, colorism, expressive painting, vases with flowers, interiors with vistas, decorative art, and contemporary figurative painting. It is a fresh, elegant work full of chromatic sensitivity, ideal for those seeking a luminous piece with great visual richness.
