The fountain pen preserves one of the collection’s most emblematic features: its spectacular “Inlaid Nib” in white gold 14K / 585, made in the USA, in size M (Medium). The nib is clean, correctly aligned and operational, offering the aerodynamic and futuristic aesthetics characteristic of the Intrigue series.

The original Sheaffer filling system remains complete and functional. This model incorporates the well-known “captive converter” system, an integrated converter built into the pen body, developed specifically for the Intrigue line. Unlike traditional detachable converters, the mechanism is permanently integrated inside the fountain pen, preserving the clean, continuous aesthetics of the design.

Operation of the system is performed by partially unscrewing the rear section, leaving visible a small internal metal knob that drives the converter piston. When turned with the nib immersed in ink, the system draws the contents into the internal reservoir. This is a sophisticated and unusual technical solution, highly valued today by collectors and Sheaffer enthusiasts for its manufacturing complexity and mechanical uniqueness.
