Medsan’s 2026 unique giclée on a wooden panel, 40 × 40 cm, titled Kintsugi Totoro (金継ぎのトトロ), 1/1 edition, hand-signed, depicts Totoro and Mei under rain in cobalt on an ivory crackle glaze in a Pop Art style, produced in France and sold directly by the artist in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
THERE EXISTS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format work, Medsan depicts the iconic bus-stop scene from My Neighbor Totoro, Hayao Miyazaki's masterpiece, as a motif of blue-and-white porcelain that is broken and then repaired with gold according to the art of kintsugi.
The treatment imitates fine blue-and-white ceramic: Totoro and little Mei in the rain, leaf on her head and a red umbrella, are painted in a cobalt palette on an ivory crackled glaze, the downpour and the trees finely hatchuted. The red umbrella provides the sole splash of vivid color. A network of golden cracks threads the piece together like a restored artifact.
The work marries the tenderness of Miyazaki's film with ancestral ceramic heritage. Kintsugi, the aesthetics of sublime breakage, lends this childhood scene of wonder a soft gravity: the fragile beauty of the moment, precious precisely because it is fleeting.
A delicate and poetic piece, ideal for bringing a touch of Japanese ambiance and charm to a contemporary collector's interior who loves Ghibli and Japanese art.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a collective of artists united around a living and plural contemporary creation. Established as a true artistic production space, the studio operates both in collaborative creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family adventure. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. Beside him, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, outsider art and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
