Science-Fiction meets the unmistakable sign world of A. R. Penck.
This large-format sheet from the work group “Perry Rhodan” was created in 1996 and combines the iconic figure of German science fiction with Penck's unique visual vocabulary. A. R. Penck ranks among the most distinctive German artists of the postwar period. His internationally known visual language is based on seemingly simple lines, figures and signs, behind which lie complex thoughts about communication, society and human understanding.
It is precisely the deliberate reduction that became his trademark. His works appear immediate and spontaneous at first glance, but upon closer inspection reveal numerous levels of meaning. Penck's art is often associated with the German art scene of the “Neue Wilde” (New Wild Ones).
