Description from the seller

Malick Sidibé: The Reunions (1974)
Signed unique print, very rare. Collection of Françoise Huguier, photographer and founder of the Bamako Encounters.
Malick Sidibé was born in 1936 in Soloba, Mali. He died in Bamako in April 2016.
From Malick Sidibé’s work we first know the documentary photographs, taken at house parties organized by young people fond of music and freedom as the country prepared for independence. In 1962, he opened the “Studio Malick” in Bamako. The studio portrait would constitute the major part of his work. People come from everywhere to have their portrait taken by the eye of Bamako…
Noted at the first Bamako Photography Encounters, he was exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, then in major galleries and museums around the world. He received the Hasselblad Award in 2003 and then the Golden Lion in 2007.
Photography delivered within 24 hours by DHL, with certificate of authenticity.
