Description from the seller
Beautiful original work by Albert Niemeyer. The artwork is nicely framed and ready to hang on the wall.
From a young age Albert Niemeyer was busy with drawing and painting. When he came into contact with artists such as Dali, Van Gogh, Appel and especially Chagall and Picasso, his life changed forever. They knew how to give form to all facets of life in an idiosyncratic way. In 1959 his parents moved to Eindhoven, where he decided to attend the graphic design school.
In Eindhoven he worked for a few years at several zoos after completing his education. In addition to caring for the animals, he observed and painted them as realistically as possible. Over the years he began to work more freely.
From 1980, Albert Niemeyer fully devoted himself to being an artist. He mainly makes portraits by assembling mixed media. While creating his work, he allows himself to be freely influenced, resulting in a whole range of styles visible in his work. These include: futurism, Cubism, abstract art, Dadaism, Surrealism, avant-garde and pop art. In his work he frees personalities from the world of music, science and literature from eras long past. These were personalities who dared to operate beyond boundaries, and whose influence is still visible today. The character, the clothing and the era in which the personalities lived determine the subjects and form. While viewing his art, the observer rediscovers the different personalities.
