Rein Dool is a Dutch artist, born in 1933 in Leiden, known for his versatile body of work including paintings, drawings, graphic art, ceramics and sculpture. His career began in the fifties and continues to this day, working in both figurative and abstract styles with a refined and expressive quality. Dool’s work often focuses on human figures and portraits, but he also experiments with different techniques and media. In addition to his artistic practice, he taught at the Royal Academy for Art and Design in ’s-Hertogenbosch. His work is included in major collections, such as the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam and the Dordrechts Museum, and he has received recognition with prizes such as the Jeanne Oosting Prize. With a long and active career, Rein Dool is regarded as an influential figure in the Dutch art world.
