A lot of two antique mechanical pencils dating from circa 1910–1935, both silver-plated with enamel, one richly engraved with blue enamel and no visible hallmark, the other bearing the mark “83” with a hard black cap, both missing clips and with untested mechanisms in reasonably heavy-used condition.
Description from the seller
A collectible lot of two antique mechanical pencils, dating approximately from 1910–1935.
The first pencil has been tested as silver and is richly decorated with fine engraving and blue enamel. No visible hallmark is present.
The second pencil has not been tested and bears the mark “83”, possibly part of an old silver fineness mark. It is fitted with a very hard black cap made from an unidentified material.
Both pencils are missing their original clips. Pencil leads are visible, but the mechanisms have not been tested and their operation cannot be guaranteed.
