Description from the seller
Bruce Smith – "Nude of the Palace Stairs" – Hand-Signed Limited Edition C-Print, Professionally Framed
Bruce Smith has worked as a professional fashion and fine art photographer since 1983, based between Paris and Bordeaux, with career roots in Monaco and London. Inspired by legendary photographers such as Cecil Beaton, Norman Parkinson, David Bailey, Barry Lategan, and Horst P. Horst, he has spent four decades shooting high fashion, haute couture, and fine art nudes for major international clients across locations spanning Africa, America, Asia, and Europe. He authored the influential "Fashion Photography: A Complete Guide" and "Pro Digital Fashion Photography," publications that led to invitations to teach and speak at photography academies and conventions worldwide.
"Nude of the Palace Stairs" is part of a collection of seven of Smith's favourite images from across his career — work he deliberately held back from sale until he felt ready to release it. The photograph shows a striking silhouetted figure descending an ornate marble staircase within a grand, chandelier-lit interior, styled with a dramatic sculptural rose headpiece and pearls — a composition rich in theatre and old-world elegance, characteristic of his fine art nude work.
