Critical and iconographic description:
Splendid and imposing polychrome graphic work by maestro Gianni Dova, one of the founding fathers of the Italian Spatialism movement and Nuclear Painting together with Lucio Fontana.
The composition shows the artist's most mature stylistic signature: a totemic and biomorphic figure rising against a saturated and vibrant yellow background. The interweaving of geometric lines, white, blue and black striped patterns, and curved abstract elements recalls the famous metamorphoses and dreamlike creatures typical of the artist's repertoire in the 1970s and 1980s.
The work is enriched by a low Roman numeral edition (only 6 copies in the world), a detail that makes it a top-tier collectible piece, far rarer than the classic commercial editions in Arabic numerals (usually 100 or 125 copies).
Conditions:
The work presents in generally excellent condition, with vivid and bright colors. Paper perfectly preserved without evident foxing or yellowing. The rear protective sheet is slightly stained on one side: see photo.
