Description from the seller
An extraordinary opportunity for elite collectors and art-market investors to acquire a certified flagship work by Gastone Biggi (1925-2014), one of the most radical, influential, and poetic figures of postwar Italian abstraction and founder of the famous Gruppo Uno. Entitled "Brandenburghese" and executed in 2002, this monumental canvas represents the apex of Biggi's mature visual research. The work is a symphonic and intense explosion of crimson and scarlet monochrome textures, where physical matter is rhythmically activated to challenge space, matter, and light. Works of this size and visual impact encapsulate the pure essence of Biggi's relentless artistic experimentation and represent high-value assets for elite private collections or sophisticated interior-architecture projects. Technique: Water-based painting on canvas (water-based technique / polymer on canvas) – the master's distinctive technique. Certification: Fully authenticated. The back bears officially the original certificate of authenticity signed by the artist pursuant to Italian law no. 490 (29 October 1999), with official archival reference numbers 3175 / DA 104 and the verified autograph of Biggi. Condition: Excellent state of preservation, museum-quality. The layers of structured varnish are perfectly intact, the structural tension is exceptional, and the original frame shows only slight signs of vintage wear. Color: Scarlet Red / Monochrome; Signature: Signed on the back by Master Gastone Biggi on the official authenticity form to which a photo is attached. The lot will be properly packed and shipped with contracted couriers and online tracking. For this lot, shipments outside the European Community are not made.
