Papillon, 1999
Colour lithograph on paper

Original limited-edition colour lithograph by the internationally renowned Belgian artist Pierre Alechinsky, born in Brussels in 1927 and closely associated with the CoBrA movement.

The work is titled Papillon and dates from 1999. The composition combines Alechinsky’s characteristic spontaneous, calligraphic line with vivid colour and figurative elements, including the central butterfly motif.

Condition:
Overall very good condition. The sheet appears clean with strong, vivid colours and clearly visible pencil signature, date and edition number. Minor handling or age-related traces may be present, consistent with a work on paper from 1999. Please refer to the photographs, which form part of the condition description.

Shipping:
The artwork will be carefully and securely packaged and shipped rolled in a strong protective tube, with suitable protective paper and outer packaging.

Pierre Alechinsky is one of the most important post-war Belgian artists. He joined the CoBrA group in 1949 and later moved to Paris, where printmaking became an important part of his artistic practice. His works are represented in major international museum collections.
