Description from the seller

Beautiful set of 8 vintage briar tobacco pipes, made in France and originating from the Jura, dating from the mid-20th century.

These pipes come from an old stock and have never been smoked.

The interiors of the bowls are clean and show no cake or obvious signs of burning.

The lot presents several classic shapes of French pipes, with mainly dark brown rusticated or sandblasted finishes as well as one specimen with a smooth finish.

The black stems are probably made of ebonite / vulcanite or a similar synthetic material.

A particularly interesting set as a testament to the French tradition of briar pipe making in the Jura in the mid-20th century.

Quantity:
8 pipes

Origin:
France – Jura

Period:
Mid-20th century

Estimated dating:
Circa 1950-1960

No major restoration has been carried out.

A beautiful, homogeneous set for collectors of French pipes, smoking items and Jura craftsmanship from the 1950s.

The photographs are an integral part of the description.
