Jan Boon
*1882, † 1975, Dutch painter and graphic artist
1894 - 1899 studied with Philip Zilcken 1899 studied with Jacob Maris.
1898 - 1903 student at the Royal Academy for Visual Arts (The Hague) under Koppenol, Frits Jansen and Van IJzeren.
1906 – 1908 studio in Amsterdam, funded by a stipend from Queen Wilhelmina.
Many of his works are in the Gemeentemuseum (The Hague). Other works and collections are in the archive of the Centraal Museum (Utrecht), the Museum voor Moderne Kunst (Arnhem), the Kröller-Müller Museum (Otterlo) as well as in the Prentenkabinet (Amsterdam), the Boijmans Museum (Rotterdam) as well as in the Kupferstich-Kabinett (Berlin / Dresden) stored. Some professor portraits are permanently on display in the Academiegebouw (University of Utrecht).
