In Dot Obsession, a female silhouette seems to be literally absorbed by a profusion of black and white polka dots. Dress, headdress and décor merge until the boundaries between body, garment and space blur.

At the center of this almost hypnotic graphic construction, a few details break the monochromy: bright red lips and eyes accented with electric blue. Two bursts of color enough to bring the face back to the foreground.

Artistic and technical approach:

The whole power of the work rests on the repetition of the circle. The polka dots change scale, deform with the volumes, and seem to converge toward the model, creating a vertigo-inducing sense of depth.

The black-and-white palette gives the whole piece an immediate graphic identity, while the red lips and blue makeup introduce two chromatic ruptures particularly masterfully handled.

The silhouette remains elegant and sculptural, yet seems gradually to disappear behind its own motif. The garment becomes décor, and the décor becomes garment.

This ambiguity gives Dot Obsession its character that is at once sophisticated, pop and hypnotic.
