Description from the seller

Each work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Extraordinary graphic work on paper with a strong visual and tactile impact, created by Roberta Pugno. The composition stands out for a rich tessellated pattern of geometric pieces that recreate the impression of a contemporary mosaic or a digital deconstruction, letting emerge a figurative presence at the center.

The warm tones of bright orange, brick red, and gold/earth shades reflect the artist's constant exploration of the themes of myth, light, and origin. The deft use of the engraving technique yields a vibrant and almost three-dimensional surface.

The specimen offered at auction is part of a very limited edition of only 30 pieces numbered in Roman numerals (XII/XXX), bears the artist's autograph in pencil, and is kept in impeccable condition. Roberta Pugno (Bolzano, 1942) is a prominent figure in the Roman and Italian art scene. After studying sociology, from the 1970s she devoted herself entirely to painting and graphic art. Her artistic research is based on the link between art, philosophy and psychology, often exploring the great classical myths, the origin of man and visual matter. Her engravings and paintings are characterized by chromatic density and innovative use of polymaterial techniques. She has held numerous solo exhibitions in Italy and abroad, and her graphics are present in prestigious public and private collections.
