Pipe - sea foam

Superb ancient Turkish pipe in traditional meerschaum style, 35 cm long, entirely carved and remarkably detailed. This piece features a magnificent sculpture representing a bearded male head, wearing an Oriental headdress, with numerous finely worked details. The pipe's bowl body is also richly decorated with relief floral and vegetal motifs, executed with great finesse. The meerschaum has a very beautiful ivory/cream tint, with subtle pinkish nuances visible in places, adding a lot of character to the piece. The pipe is equipped with a long translucent amber-colored stem, nicely curved and perfectly matching the whole. The exact material of the stem has not been determined, and it is therefore presented here as amber-colored, with no assertion about its composition. The pipe is completely new and has never been used; it has always remained locked in a collector's display case since the 1980s.
