Biography of Hoang Anh.
Born in 1984 in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam, lives and works in Hanoi
Originating from Thanh Hoa province, located 150 km south of Hanoi, Hoang Anh belongs to the pivotal generation of Vietnamese artists (the 8x generation) who blend cultural heritage with contemporary abstraction. A graduate of the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, he has established himself on the Hanoi art scene with a bold approach to matter and colour.

Style and Artistic Approach
Hoang Anh’s work is distinguished by an intense exploration of texture and movement. While he explores varied themes such as landscapes, nature, and the female figure, it is in abstraction that he reveals his full expressive power:
• The energy of gesture: A student of oil and acrylic painting, he often uses a palette knife to apply color in vigorous horizontal strokes. This gesture creates a musical rhythm across the canvas.
• Chromatic contrasts: His work plays on the opposition between sometimes neutral backgrounds (urban greys, textured whites) and flashes of primary colors — ardent reds, sunny yellows, and deep blues — that seem to burst from the surface.
