Brabants landscape, an oil painting in the Impressionist style dating from 1970–1980, originating from the Netherlands, sold with frame, signed at the bottom right, with frame dimensions of 83 x 103 cm.
Description from the seller
Beautiful and atmospheric painting by Frans Manders (Helmond, 1939), an artist best known for his remarkable sensitivity to light, color and atmosphere.
Manders studied at the Academy for Industrial Design in Eindhoven. In 1961 he began his career as a draftsman and later worked as a graphic designer and illustrator. After a successful exhibition of his watercolors and drawings in 1978, he decided to switch to becoming an independent artist. In his early work, the traditional, pristine Brabant landscape was central. With these atmospheric scenes, Manders built a great reputation. This painting is a beautiful example of that and is characterized by the warm, atmospheric appearance that is so typical of Frans Manders' oeuvre.
