Damián Comas, Golden Bath, a 40 × 40 cm mixed media on canvas work from 2025, depicting a portrait on a golden surface, hand-signed by the artist, in good condition, original edition, with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
Golden Bath, 2026
Damián Comas (1984), Mexican-Argentinian artist
Mixed media on canvas
40 × 40 cm
A woman’s face emerges from an entirely golden surface, as though immersed in a bath of gold. The material envelops the figure, softening its contours and gradually blurring the boundary between portrait and background.
Here, gold loses its purely ornamental function and becomes matter itself: it conceals and reveals at once. The face remains suspended between presence and dissolution, while the irregular, highly textured surface preserves the physical traces of the artist’s gesture.
Golden Bath explores portraiture through material, light and transformation, allowing individual identity to gradually withdraw from view while the presence of the figure remains.
Original and unique work. Mixed media on canvas, created in 2026. Dimensions: 40 × 40 cm. The work is signed by the artist in the lower right corner and is in excellent condition. It is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
Damián Comas (1984) is a Mexican-raised artist of Argentine origin and Italian citizenship working across visual arts, literature and cinema.
