Max Kreijn, Monreale (1999), original watercolour, 104 x 74 cm, depicting architecture in an impressionist style, hand-signed, produced in the Netherlands, in good condition, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
The composition consists of simplified forms and vibrant use of color, so the result is not so much a realistic representation as a personal impression of the atmosphere and rhythm of the city. The work reflects Kreijn’s fascination with travel and urban cultures.
After studying architecture for several years at the Technical University of Eindhoven, Kreijn continued his training in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He then took courses under, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies, he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensely to painting. For over forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, where architecture, mood, and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 104 x 74 cm
Unframed
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house picture-framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also work with restorers from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
