Description from the seller
Modular Abstraction is a pictorial series that investigates the possibilities of geometric language through repetition, rhythm and the articulation of visual modules. Each work is built as a closed structure but open to multiple readings, where flat shapes and defined contours compose an autonomous visual system.
Painting is presented here as a surface of inscription, where simple figures — rectangles, triangles, semicircles — are assembled into unique combinations, evoking architectural structures, symbols, fragments of possible alphabets. The compositions do not refer to an external reality but propose themselves as self-sufficient entities, capable of generating meaning through formal order.
The use of restricted palettes — with one or two accent colors and neutral backgrounds — intensifies the perception of balance and contrast, while thin black lines delineate the planes with precision, reinforcing an aesthetic of restraint and clarity. The absence of textures, gradients or volumetric effects allows each module to preserve its entity, and at the same time contribute to an organic whole.
In a world saturated with images and stimuli, Modular Abstraction offers a visual pause: a contemplation of order, of boundary, of the infinite possibility hidden in the minimum. Each work is a system, a unit, a visual score that is offered as a silent enigma to the viewer.
